Rescued this little guy today after she spectacularly crashed into our living room window and then careened off the (parked!) car below. We phoned the RSPCA who advised us that birds are often just stunned after an impact and to keep her safe until she recovered. Sure enough, before we even had time to poke some air-holes in a box, she came back to her senses, and – summarily unamused at finding herself in my company – shat in my hand, then flew off into sky.

The goldcrest is apparently the smallest bird in Europe and, in honour of her scientific name (Regulus regulus), we named her Regina. πŸ‘‘

Please join me in wishing a Happy 1st Birthday to our beautiful birthday bear! πŸ»πŸŽ‚ πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ

I also made a video to commemorate all his puppy adventures during his first year. Featuring all his favourite furry friends, you can see Giles with his feline siblings (and the very special bond he’s forged with his sister); his neighbour Lady Fudge; his cousin Rusty the Husky; and his adopted pack over at Townhounds Dogwalking! (All Townhounds photos kindly provided by Giles’ Auntie Angie Koorbanally.)

Tried for a lovely autumnal photoshoot.

Giles had other ideas. πŸπŸ‚
