Another quinquennium is upon me. 🎂

No better distraction from my encroaching hagdom than spending it with some of my favourite people. 😂

There are precisely two moods when playing Pandemic…and nothing in-between.

Ironically, it was only when we stopped accidentally cheating and read the rules that we finally won. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Next day: a sodden but no less enjoyable trip to St Andrews with the fam.

The plan was to get a picture of my St A’s themed tattoo on the pier but the weather had other ideas.

Thankfully we were able to get a seat at The Räv on North Street – recommended by a friend at the gym and, at the time of our visit, celebrating its 2nd week of opening!

It’s Nordic cuisine, and these cabbage rolls with pearl barley did not disappoint. (My mum and brother had the Danish hot dogs which I’m assured were equally delicious.)

Lingonberry Tart and semla bun (which I’m about 80% sure was a technical challenge on a season of Bake Off).

Martyr Patrick Hamilton’s face carved into the rock where he was burned at the stake is like St Andrews’ own, super-morbid version of a Hidden Mickey.

And a birthday(/week) meal with John at The Fish People Cafe in Glasgow!

I’d ordered the fish stew but it arrived as a mountain of shellfish and while I felt terrible returning it, the staff were actually really lovely about it. Also the tandoori sea bass was amazing.
